GENEALOGICAL DEPARTMENT

The museum's Genealogical Department contains a limited collection of local family genealogies, including that of the village's founder, Judge Samuel W. Dexter.   Local Protestant church records are archived at the museum.    A card file is maintained on recent deaths and other events in Dexter and environs.

We have a collection of cemetery readings for the Dexter area including, Forest Lawn cemetery, St. Andrews cemetery, St. Joseph's cemetery, and smaller cemeteries in Webster, Dexter, Lima, Scio, and Lyndon townships.
